Dues Increase:
There was a motion for a dues increase at the October General Membership meeting and a vote for a dues increase of $10.00 on November 21,2011 at the regular monthly meeting. The dues increase was approved by the membership by a vote of 59 in favor and 39 against.
Contract negotiations
We had a Meeting with the MTA on December 13,2011, The MTA gave a Financial report for the period of 2010-2014 and it was the same old tune of we have no money to give. The coalition responed that we will make a counter proposal next time we meet, which will be sometime in February.After two months we finally received a proposal for wages and health and welfare, (SEE DOCUMENTS PAGE UNDER PROPOSAL). We also asked for more information on the cost of the work rules that they would like us to give back along with other informational request. Next meeting is scheduled for early March.
